Classic Car Breaks

A superb package that combines a luxurious stay at Headlam Hall with the use of one of our stunning classic cars. Enjoy first class hospitality and a truly memorable motoring experience.

The two night classic car break package includes:

• Two nights accommodation in a deluxe double or twin room
• English breakfast each morning
• Three course a la carte dinner each evening
• Hire of your chosen classic car from 10am - 6pm on one day (please note conditions of hire)
• A luxury picnic hamper for your day out motoring
• Use of the spa facilities throughout your stay

Prices for the two night package:

With use of the Jaguar E-type: £325 per person

With use of the Porsche 911: £295 per person

With use of the Mercedes SL: £265 per person

Prices are based on two people sharing. Single occupancy supplement add £75 to above prices.

Upgrade to a Junior Suite for an additional £20 pp or a Premier Suite for an additional £50 pp.

The Cars

All of the cars are owned by us and are in excellent condition, both visually and mechanically. The owners of Headlam Hall are car enthusiasts themselves and take great pride in these vehicles.

Jaguar E-type V12 Coupe - the epitome of classic British motoring elegance, widely regarded as the most beautiful sports car ever built. Our car, ‘JAG 118L’ is a 1972 model finished in immaculate indigo blue with chrome wire wheels and grey leather interior. It has a fold-back Webasto sunroof for those summer days and an upgraded 5 speed gearbox for improved driveability making this not only a fantastic car to look at but also to drive.

Mercedes Benz SL380 Roadster - one of the definitive open top sports tourer's of the last 40 years and a great example of German engineering excellence. Our 1981 car has the 3.8 V8 engine offering effortless performance and the automatic transmission makes this a very comfortable and relaxing car to drive. Finished in the classic SL colour scheme of signal red with cream check interior (as driven by Bobby Ewing in 'Dallas'!) the car provides wonderful open top motoring.

Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 Targa - this extremely rare 1976 car is a superb example of this legendary rear engined sports car. Finished in the original metallic emerald green (a fantastic 1970's colour) and with the classic Fuchs alloy wheels, this model has a removable roof panel for sunny days making it a perfect driving experience for the knowledgeable enthusiast.

Great Driving Routes

Headlam Hall is an ideal base to enjoy some of the best driving routes in the country with beautiful scenery and charming villages in both the Yorkshire and Durham Dales as well as the Lake District which is just over an hour away. We can supply you with suggested routes including recommended stop-off's and picnic spots or you can plan your own tour. We will even provide a 'sat-nav' if required or for the more traditional approach, a road map of the area!

Fair Weather Guarantee

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee dry sunny conditions for your classic car break but we can guarantee this......

If on the day that you are due to take the car out, the weather/weather forecast for the day is poor, you can cancel the car hire element of your break without penalty. That means that you would just be charged for your two nights DB&B plus, of course, any extras. We also reserve the right to withdraw cars from hire in extremely poor weather conditions.

Conditions of Hire

For insurance purposes all drivers of our classic cars must be over 30 years old, hold a full and valid UK driving license and have no more than 3 penalty points. There is a £750 excess which is to be paid by the driver in advance but which will be refunded when the car is returned in the same condition. There is a mileage limit of 200 miles per day with a penalty charge if this is exceeded. We will provide the car full of petrol and charge a fair price per mile to cover this cost. This will be based upon the current price of petrol, distance travelled and the estimated MPG of the car (there will be no 'mark-up' added to this cost element). Please note that the small rear seats in these cars do not have seat belts. A dog is permitted in the back of the Mercedes SL and there is a dog harness mounting point. The classic car break is available from 1st April antil 31st October and is subject to availability.
