The use of fresh and locally sourced produce including fruits, herbs and vegetables from our own gardens is at the core of our food philosophy.


Dinner Menu - daily

Roast Hake - with a soft herb crust, bacon, sweetcorn and cockle chowder with crisp cabbage - £20.00

Pork Three Ways - roast fillet, pork cheek sausage roll, slow cooked pork belly served with Anna potatoes, braised red cabbage and charred chicory with a spiced cider reduction - £22.00

Tempura Codling Fillets - with seasoned fries, homemade tartare sauce and minted mushy peas - £16.50

Steak and Black Sheep Ale Pie - bone marrow mash and roasted root vegetables - £16.50

Simpson’s 8oz Ribeye Steak - with chunky chips, roast tomato, field mushrooms and watercress with a choice of Teesdale blue cheese sauce or peppercorn sauce - £23.50

Grilled Seabass - with king prawns, a chive mash, spinach, peas and tarragon cream - £21.50

Lunch Menu - Monday to Saturday

Lunch is served from 12pm until 2pm. Booking recommended but not always essential. The seasonal menu changes daily with a choice of 4 for each course.

Monday to Friday: 2 courses £16.50, 3 courses £19.50, Tea/coffee £2.00


We also serve snacks in the Spa Brasserie from 10am-4pm.

Sunday Lunch Menu

Our Sunday lunch is served from 12pm until 3pm, booking essential.

Please go to our online booking pages where the best rates can be found. Online reservations can be made for up to 6 rooms at a time and for a maximum of 6 months ahead.
