On Sunday 22nd April we will be hosting our own annual spring wedding exhibition which is a great opportunity to come along and have a look at the place as well as to meet some great wedding suppliers who can hopefully offer you some additional inspiration. Everything about Headlam Hall makes it an idealistic place for an English country wedding….
Tucked away in the peaceful and rolling countryside of lower Teesdale it is out of the way of the hectic pace of modern life. The Hall dates back to the 17th century giving it that historical charm and romance that can only be found in period properties. It stands in four acres of beautiful walled gardens with a stepped terrace overlooking a large main lawn that is just the start of a garden of delights. Walk through an old archway to find the magical rose garden, wander along the walkways between the huge yew and beach hedges and stroll by the side of the ornamental canal. The photo opportunities are endless.
For couples holding their wedding at Headlam the fabulous Coach House Suite is theirs for the day. Just across the courtyard from the Main Hall this building used to house the horses and carriages of the residence and has been tastefully converted to combine period features with contemporary style and elegance. It includes a welcoming lobby, perfect to meet and greet guests, the stunning Stable Lounge is the perfect reception room with its huge beamed ceiling and fully glazed frontage that opens onto a private terrace. Guests also have their own private oak panelled bar for the day and the main room in the Coach House Suite has been designed as a simple yet elegant canvas for your own individual style. It is dominated by a huge glass arched ceiling that allows natural light to flood the room for that perfect afternoon wedding reception and for the evening it can be transformed for a party by the mood lighting set to your colour of choice. Up to 150 guests can celebrate your big day with you dancing the night away to either our in-house disco or a live band.
