The countryside around Headlam is perfect if you enjoy scenic walks with a number of routes from the front door varying in length. These paths take you through the gently rolling countryside and route details can be found in our in-house walking guide which can be viewed online by clicking here.

Within a short drive you will also find the more rugged landscapes of Upper Teesdale and our other hotel, the Rose & Crown at Romaldkirk, is a great base for these walks. You can park your car at the Rose & Crown, enjoy a walk and then perhaps have a spot of lunch or just a drink at this popular pub before heading back to Headlam.
