Wedding season is well and truly upon us, which means plenty of couples will be spending their summers watching friends and families tie the knot. And, after watching your loved ones say ‘I do’, it’s almost a certainty you’ll start to think about when you’ll be getting hitched with your other half. Once the engagement takes place, the first thing you’ll think about is the venue, and with so many to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start.
We’re a little biased but we believe the North East of England has some of the best venues in the UK, with Durham in particular being our favourite.
The picturesque Durham countryside that wraps around our luxury country hotel combined with our rich historic charm, really does make Headlam Hall the most idyllic setting for the big day. The hotel is host to the most romantic setting and grounds, making it the perfect backdrop for those all important wedding photos. You can get the whole family gathered out on the front lawn with our stunning building in the background for a group photo that truly will be picture perfect.
As you venture on inside you’ll be met by elegant rooms and a variety of different locations to suit your individual needs - it is your special day after all!
Our Coach House Suite, situated across from the Main Hall, creates the most breathtaking of spaces. Its contemporary windows that spill out onto a private south facing terrace helps add to the exclusivity of this space allowing you to dance the night away without anyone watching. Alternatively, our Drawing Room is perfect for an intimate wedding ceremony for up to 40 guests before a reception in our Stable Lounge. The room enjoys views over our gardens and French doors that allow guests to spill out onto the terrace.
