Step back in time for a classic motoring experience at Headlam Hall. Our classic cars can be hire for half or full days between 1st May and 30th September to explore the fabulous scenic roads and countryside of the Durham & Yorkshire dales. 

You will be given an introduction to the classic car of your choosing in the courtyard at Headlam Hall before heading off for a memorable day. We can even supply our favourite routes in the form of either typed instructions or through satellite navigation via a free App.

This experience is exclusive to residents at Headlam Hall (or the Rose & Crown at Romaldkirk) and includes comprehensive insurance and fuel. We also offer free cancellation of hire up until 5pm on the day preceding hire in case your plans change or the weather forecast is poor. 

Meet the cars for the 2026 season...

A 1959 Jaguar XK150 Drop Head Coupe - a fabulous open top classic from an iconic marque that epitomises the mid-20th century British sports car.

A 1981 Mercedes 380SL - a beautifully engineered and very cool 80s convertible that was the go-to sports tourer for the 'glamour-set' of the era.
