Accessibility
Headlam Hall Spa hotel with disabled facilities
Introduction
At Headlam Hall, our overall aim is to ensure that all our guests and customers enjoy their time here and have an effortless stay. All our guests are welcomed in the same way, ensuring that their individual needs are met..
When someone with accessibility needs enquires about staying with us, our reservations team will discuss their needs and advise them accordingly.
Pre-Arrival
A Confirmation letter or email is sent out after a reservation has been made. Within this letter we advise guests how to get here and where to park when they arrive so that we can offer assistance if required.
Guests are also encouraged to view our website prior to arrival where all facilities are outlined in detail.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
On arrival guests park their vehicles within the main car park where we have designated disabled parking places, but may, if they require, unload their car near the main hotel entrance or, in some cases, near their bedroom.
Main Entrance & Reception
All guests are given directions to their bedrooms and assistance is made available if required. The main entrance doors are a good width (approx. 1m wide) as are the internal ground floor doors.
Public Areas - Reception
There is level access to the hotel reception on the ground floor.
Public Areas - WC
On the ground floor there are ladies and gents' toilets in the main hall. We have a disabled toilet in the Coach House lobby which is located across the courtyard from the hall (out of the main entrance door, across a covered, flagged path approx. 15m long). There is also a disabled toilet in the spa area.
Restaurant, Bar & Lounges
Our Restaurant is also on the ground floor, as is the hotel's bar and main lounge.
Staff are always on-hand to offer assistance regarding menu choices or wine recommendations. Should any guest require these to be described in more detail, this would be done without question.
Laundry
Headlam Hall Hotel offers a laundry service, and all items can be collected and delivered direct to the guest's bedroom.
Headlam Spa
The Spa and its treatment rooms are on the ground floor and our trained staff are always on-hand to offer assistance when required. The first floor gym has lift access and includes equipment suitable for wheelchair users.
Changing rooms are designed for easy access as they have full wet room facilities, including toilet.
Outdoor Facilities
We have extensive gardens at Headlam Hall, and these can be accessed by a number of different ground floor routes. They are generally accessible by wheelchair.
Conference & Meeting Rooms & Banqueting
Headlam Hall has a range of conference and banqueting rooms that are easily accessible, including the Coach House Suite and Stable Lounge and the Drawing Room
Bedrooms
We have bedrooms in four different areas - the Main Hall, Coach House, Spa and ground-floor Mews. We have nine bedrooms which are located on the ground floor (six of which have car park spaces immediately outside the door) and two bedrooms are equipped specifically with improved accessibility (Linden & Lilac in the Mews) with wet-room style bathrooms. We have a number of rooms on the 1st floor of the Main Hall that have walk-in showers (Gainford, Fern, Birkbeck, Brockett & Lyme).
Our Mews bedrooms are located approx. 50m from the main hall entrance and there is a level hard surface between the two buildings. It is possible to drive from immediately outside these bedrooms to the main entrance door of the Hall or Spa.
