The Golf Course
This superb 9 hole golf course near Darlington is set over mature rolling pastureland to the east of the Hall and has an abundance of natural features including rig & fur, woodland, streams and ponds which are both pleasing to the eye and challenging to the player.
The course offers a wide variety of holes from the picturesque and daunting 116 yard 'Pond Hole' to the testing 523 yard 'Sleeters' par 5. The full size greens have been constructed to USGA specification and are fully irrigated for year round performance. As well as grass tees there are also high quality artificial tees, again helping to maintain the course enjoyment throughout the year.
The 10 bay covered driving range has been sympathetically designed to blend in with the countryside and bays have been made to a 3.5 metre width to give extra space. The old stone cow shed houses the ball dispensing machine with tokens available to buy from the Pro Shop. The range is open during daylight hours. There is also a practice putting green and practice chipping area for members and residents to work on all aspects of their game.
Our resident PGA professional is available for tuition on the extensive practice facilities and the golf shop stocks a good selection of accessories, equipment and clothing by leading brands.
